OPEN, MODERN AND INVITING
When Anupa and Isiri had their daughter Kaya, their priorities changed. They knew they would be spending more time at home as a young family, and wanted an environment that was inspiring and inviting for themselves and their extended family and friends who would be visiting and supporting them. They considered moving, but first wanted to see if updating their home in the Mount Hope neighbourhood they had come to enjoy would be an option. After an online search and feeling confident about the strong reviews and portfolio presented by Westcliff, they reached out for a conversation.
Their focus was on the outdated first floor of their house. They had an existing vision, but were looking for a renovation partner who could offer expert insight while listening to their feedback and working with them closely to determine the final plan. After the group hit it off, the project evolved to include a brand new kitchen, luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the main floor, new trim, fresh paint, tiling, updating electrical components and layouts, redoing the laundry room and closets, and renovating the main floor bathroom.
With an open, airy, and light feel, the renovations help to transform a cramped midsize space split up by a central staircase into a connected and consistent living area. Visitors chatting and enjoying a tv show in the living room share a comfortable proximity to the dining area and sparkling kitchen.

The carefully laid herringbone pattern tile in the kitchen is a visual focus of the main floor, and an excellent representation of the level of detail that went into completing the project. In the kitchen, the tiles are complemented by a perfectly paired, cut, and installed quartz countertop, made even more functional and fashionable paired with a large farmhouse sink. The theme of black appliances and a clean white base is carried forward with attractive cupboards and handles that allow for sleek storage.
Consistency is a theme throughout this project. In addition to the modern flooring that connects the different spaces, Westcliff refinished the ceiling with a smooth finish and new lighting as another visual anchor and backdrop for the feature elements. The small bathroom on the main floor was enhanced in appearance and functionality with new paint and fixtures, and the tiles around the fireplace were redone as a complement to the kitchen tiles.
Anupa and Isiri describe Westcliff as the company that says yes. They appreciate that the team was always willing to flexibly find a way to incorporate their needs and ideas into the renovation plan. They are very pleased with the quality of work and plan to call Westcliff for all of their future needs as their family and lives continue to grow and evolve. Now they just have to pick the perfect artwork to accent their walls!
